Interactions between Indirect DC-Voltage Estimation and Circulating Current Controllers of MMC-based HVDC Transmission Systems - 2017 PROJECT TITLE :Interactions between Indirect DC-Voltage Estimation and Circulating Current Controllers of MMC-based HVDC Transmission Systems - 2017ABSTRACT:Estimation-based indirect dc-voltage management in MMCs interacts with circulating current control strategies. This paper proposes an estimation-based mostly indirect dc-voltage control technique for MMC-HVDC systems and analyzes its performance compared to various estimations. The interactions between estimation-based mostly indirect dc-voltage management and circulating current management ways, active/reactive power regulation are also investigated. The proposed methodology delivers similar performance to measurement-primarily based direct dc-voltage control, no matter the circulating current management methodology. Steady-state and transient performance is demonstrated employing a benchmark MMC-HVDC transmission system, implemented in a very real-time digital simulator. The results verify the theoretical evaluations and illustrate the operation and performance of the proposed indirect dc-voltage control technique. Did you like this research project?
