PROJECT TITLE :

Power-Electronics-Based Energy ManagementSystem With Storage - 2016

ABSTRACT:

The penetration of renewable power generation in remote space power supply systems (RAPS) will be at a vital level, and therefore the frequency support from renewable power generators is crucial to take care of the system stability below the imbalance between generation and cargo demand. However, the stochastic nature of renewable energy resources such as wind, and the ability electronics primarily based interface between the grid and therefore the generator constrain the capability of permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) to participate in frequency regulation. This paper proposes to integrate hybrid storage system as well as lead-acid batteries (LAB) and ultracapacitors (UC) into the PMSG based wind energy generation system (WECS) to provide frequency support. Furthermore, the ability reserved in using suboptimal maximum power point tracking strategy (SOPPT) in WECS is used to supply secondary frequency response along with LAB. The proposed multilevel energy storage will regulate the system frequency effectively.
