ABSTRACT:

:This paper presents Lifting Scheme as a tool tocompute the interpolated versions of an image for modelingHuman Vision interpolation phenomenon at optimumcomputational load. Image can be zoomed in or zoomed outusing various interpolation techniques. Here, Lifting Scheme isused as a tool to increase/decrease image size, even thoughimage is not of size 2n x 2n where n is an integer. Zero paddingtechnique is used for images those are not of size 2n x 2ndimensions. Any variable size reduction/magnification of animage can be computed using the proposed lifting scheme. Forthis, piecewise application of Lifting Scheme based DWT ispresented along with the MSE & PSNR of reconstruction forgray and color images.
