Angular Pattern and Binary Angular Pattern for Shape Retrieval - 2014

ABSTRACT:

During this paper, we have a tendency to propose two novel form descriptors, angular pattern (AP) and binary angular pattern (BAP), and a multiscale integration of them for form retrieval. Both AP and BAP are intrinsically invariant to scale and rotation. Additional importantly, being global form descriptors, the proposed form descriptors are computationally very economical, while possessing similar discriminability as state-of-the-art native descriptors. As a result, the proposed approach is enticing for planet form retrieval applications. The experiments on the widely used MPEG-7 and TARI-1000 knowledge sets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared with existing strategies.
