Assessing the effect of wind power peaking characteristics on the maximum penetration level of wind power PROJECT TITLE :Assessing the effect of wind power peaking characteristics on the maximum penetration level of wind powerABSTRACT:A probabilistic approach with considering the peaking characteristics of wind power is proposed to determine the most wind power penetration level (WPPL). To judge the impact wind peaking characteristics dropped at the hosting capability of systems, a close simulation of wind speed/load distributions over a protracted period is needed. So, taking an hour because the time scale, the time-sharing peaking characteristics of wind power are discussed by describing the hourly distribution of wind output and load. Based on the prospect constrained programming, a WPPL model is established during this study. The optimisation method is achieved using the improved particle swarm optimisation algorithm primarily based on Monte–Carlo simulation. This proposed approach has been applied to an actual Power System in central China. Simulation results show that the WPPL would be too optimistic while not considering the anti-peaking characteristics of wind power. Besides varied sensitivity analyses are performed to assess the result of different parameters on the most penetration level. Did you like this research project?
