On Achieving Seamless IP Communications in Heterogeneous Vehicular Networks


The supporting infrastructure and Communications technologies for vehicular networking contexts are heterogeneous by nature. Massive coverage access networks, such as 3G/4G, coexist with wireless native space networks and dedicated short-vary Communications. In such a situation, we tend to investigate the seamless provision of mobile.Net access and general IP services over the heterogeneous network, in explicit for loosely coupling architectures. We have a tendency to propose a hybrid international mobility theme that permits for the continuing IP sessions to be transferred across dissimilar radio access networks that will belong to totally different administrative domains. So as to attain the worldwide mobility, our theme combines host- and network-primarily based mobility. The answer focuses on urban vehicular scenarios and enables seamless Communications for in-vehicle networks, passengers with mobile devices, and users of public transportation commuting along the system. By means that of analytical evaluations and simulations of realistic urban vehicular situations, we have a tendency to show that our hybrid theme can achieve seamless IP Communications for mobile Web access over the heterogeneous vehicular network.
