Pileup Correction Algorithm using an Iterated Sparse Reconstruction Method PROJECT TITLE :Pileup Correction Algorithm using an Iterated Sparse Reconstruction MethodABSTRACT:Each radioactive source can be characterized by an histogram obtained when collecting the energies of photons emitted from the supply, conjointly referred to as energy spectrum. But, when the activity of this supply is high, a physical phenomenon referred to as the pile-up result distorts direct measurements, resulting in a important distortion of the energy spectrum. We have a tendency to recommend during this letter an iterative algorithm to attenuate the pile-up impact and enhance the resulting energy spectra. It's based on iterations of a post-processed, non-negative, version of the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Choice Operator (LASSO). Results on simulations and real knowledge illustrate the improvement obtained by the proposed methodology. Did you like this research project?
