PROJECT TITLE :

DSMAC: Privacy-Aware Decentralized Self-Management of Data Access Control Based on Blockchain for Health Data

ABSTRACT:

In recent years, there has been a rise in interest regarding the implementation of wireless Communication technologies and mobile devices in the context of the healthcare industry. Nevertheless, even though there has been a greater focus on the safety of patients' electronic health records, there is still a possibility that data breaches could compromise patient privacy. Because of this, implementing an access Control System can be quite difficult, particularly in cases where a patient's medical records can be accessed by users who are granted varying levels of privileges depending on the circumstance. The Blockchain is a new technology that has the potential to be implemented to solve problems with decentralized access control management. Despite this, there are a number of problems with scalability, security, and privacy associated with this technology. We propose a novel system called Decentralized Self-Management of data Access Control (DSMAC), which would use a Blockchain-based Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) model for privacy-preserving medical data. This system would empower patients with mechanisms to maintain control over their personal information and would permit them to self-grant access rights to their medical data. The purpose of this system would be to address the issues that have been raised. DSMAC makes use of smart contracts to carry out Role-based Access Control policies, and it adopts the implementation of decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials to describe advanced access control techniques for use in emergency situations. Both of these features are described in the following sentence. Finally, by evaluating performance and comparing analyses with other schemes, DSMAC can satisfy the privacy requirements of medical systems in terms of privacy, scalability, and sustainability, and offers a new approach for emergency cases.
