PROJECT TITLE :

A System for The Promotion of Traceability and Ownership of Health Data Using Blockchain

ABSTRACT:

Real-time health monitoring has been made possible by the proliferation of wireless technologies and the improvement and expansion of mobile devices that are capable of global connectivity. Mobile health, also known as m-health, holds the promise of delivering medical services at any time and in any location, improving user experience and allowing for quicker diagnoses without requiring patients to physically visit medical facilities. The use of m-health applications on mobile devices with the support of Cloud Computing is a current trend in technology that has many benefits, but also poses several challenges, particularly on the data storage and privacy fronts. While this trend does have many positive aspects, it does also present several negative aspects. The application of Blockchain technology is expanding at an exponential rate and is currently being utilized in a wide variety of research fields, including finance, voting mechanisms, and production chains, amongst others. Immutability, non-repudiation, transparency, and a reduction in the requirement for intermediaries are all important benefits that can be obtained through the use of this technology. As a result, the purpose of this paper is to present an original method for using Blockchain technology in m-health systems. This proposal makes it possible to integrate with other health systems or applications in a simple and expedient manner. As a result, a patient-user will have access to their electronic health record in a manner that is more protected. Despite the fact that the data can be followed throughout the system, it still manages to keep the necessary level of anonymity. As a result, a prototype of a solution that is based on Blockchain technology and uses Hyperledger Fabric was developed. Because of this implementation, the creation of a health data record that is both chronologically organized and immutable is possible. The proposed system makes use of two distinct database components that keep data traceability through the use of ID sets that are stored in the Blockchain in order to achieve the goal of creating an anonymous storage system. In addition, the development of the suggested system was analyzed with regard to the performance as well as the network configurations of the Hyperledger Fabric.
