Comment on “An Efficient Homomorphic MAC with Small Key Size for Authentication in Network Coding” PROJECT TITLE :Comment on “An Efficient Homomorphic MAC with Small Key Size for Authentication in Network Coding”ABSTRACT:Quite recently, Cheng and Jiang [one] designed an efficient homomorphic message authentication code (MAC) theme for authentication in network coding, and claimed that the newly proposed theme will achieve abundant higher security level with a proper security proof. But, in this comment, we can point out there exists a design flaw in their proposed scheme, resulting in an inherent vulnerability, and additionally show an inaccuracy in their formal security proof. We have a tendency to hope that by identifying the design flaw, similar mistakes can be avoided in future style of homomorphic MAC authentication for network coding.
