VANET Traffic-Aware Data Gathering Protocol

PROJECT TITLE :

Traffic Aware Data Gathering Protocol for VANETs

ABSTRACT:

Research into Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks, or VANETs, is a field that is both challenging and active. It provides a vast array of applications, some of which include Intelligent Transport System (ITS), effective road traffic monitoring, efficient traffic flow, and applications for improving road safety. During the collection of real-time data for various emergency scenarios, the fixed silent segments present a challenge to the flow of communication. In addition, there is a possibility that the crucial operations of the ITS will be delayed as a result of this problem. In this paper, a Real-Time Traffic-Aware Data Gathering Protocol (TDG) is proposed. In this protocol, dynamic segmentation switching is utilized as a means to circumvent the constraints imposed by communication. TDG is a lightweight and dynamic protocol that was developed for the purpose of collecting and forwarding data packets based on the current traffic conditions and their rapid evolution. The primary objective is to lessen the burden of network and data communication overhead in order to accommodate time constraints imposed by real-time data collection. TDG puts into practice a data aggregation scheme for the purpose of conducting data analysis in order to retrieve information based on location, speed, vehicle id, and the number of neighbors. In addition, a data extraction strategy is put into place at the base station in order to improve the efficiency of data retrieval and data utilization in a manner that is both intelligent and proactive. Our proposed solution outperforms existing data gathering protocols in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, delay, communication overhead, and data transmission rate, as validated by extensive simulation and evaluation results.
