A Framework for Dynamic Network Architecture and Topology Optimization

ABSTRACT:

A brand new paradigm in wireless network access is presented and analyzed. In this idea, sure categories of wireless terminals can be turned temporarily into an access purpose (AP) anytime while connected to the Net. This creates a dynamic network design (DNA) since the amount and placement of these APs vary in time. In this paper, we have a tendency to present a framework to optimize totally different aspects of this architecture. Initial, the dynamic AP association drawback is addressed with the aim to optimize the network by choosing the foremost convenient APs to provide the standard-of-service (QoS) levels demanded by the users with the minimum cost. Then, an economic model is developed to compensate the users for serving as APs and, so, augmenting the network resources. The users' security investment is also taken under consideration in the AP choice. A preclustering method of the DNA is proposed to keep the optimization process possible during a high dense network. To dynamically reconfigure the optimum topology and adjust it to the traffic variations, a brand new specific encoding of genetic algorithm (GA) is presented. Numerical results show that GA will offer the optimum topology up to 2 orders of magnitude faster than exhaustive explore for network clusters, and the advance considerably increases with the cluster size.
