PROJECT TITLE :

Cross-Sectional Lamé Mode Ladder Filters for UHF Wideband Applications

ABSTRACT:

This letter reports on the primary demonstration of ladder filters based mostly on the recently demonstrated cross-sectional Lamé mode resonator (CLMR) technology. These filter prototypes show a fractional bandwidth (BW $_mathrm 3dB)$ as high as 3.three% and an insertion loss as low as 0.4 dB. As the resonance frequency of CLMRs can be lithographically controlled while not considerably degrading their electromechanical coupling coefficient ( $textk_t^2)$ , multiple contiguous frequency bands can be coated by this filter technology while not adding fabrication complexity. This distinctive feature addresses one amongst the foremost crucial challenges related to the event of miniaturized mobile platforms adopting carrier-aggregation. Furthermore, the capability of achieving giant BW3dB, around lithographically outlined center frequencies, permits the fabrication of transmit and receive modules of the next-generation radio-frequency front ends on the identical chip without adding fabrication steps.
