A practical in-home illumination consideration to reduce data rate fluctuation in visible light communication

ABSTRACT:

Visible lightweight communication based on LED has attracted additional and a lot of attention. As the primary function of LED luminaries is optimized for lighting and illumination, it challenges the communication properties of VLC. An investigation based on totally different in-home illumination conditions using commercially on the market whitelight LED luminaries to optimize both illumination and communication is highly fascinating. During this work, we have a tendency to investigate joint illumination and communication systems to produce an in-home lighting and VLC system. We tend to 1st focus on the performance constraints set by illumination properties and discuss lighting conditions using completely different sorts of commercially out there luminaries, beam angles, and LED lamp arrangements, and consider reflections off completely different wall materials. Then we tend to propose and experimentally demonstrate a white-light-weight phosphor-based mostly LED adaptive data rate VLC system. Finally, the achievable information rates of a joint illumination and VLC system are discussed primarily based on the experimental results, and an setting with reduced VLC information rate fluctuation will be achieved.
