IT in Emerging Markets

ABSTRACT :

Emerging markets represent 2-thirds of the globe's population, generate over twenty % of the planet's gross domestic product, and are restructuring themselves to foster additional growth and socioeconomic development. Realizing that IT puts them on a progressive path, they are embracing it in novel ways that in areas like business, education, healthcare, and government. New opportunities exist for the IT business and emerging markets to embrace each different. This special issue presents a snapshot of IT's progress and potential in such markets and also the related challenges IT professionals and policy manufacturers must address.
