Cellular-Based Real-Time Flow Repair for Broadcast Flows

ABSTRACT:

Watching tv on a moveable device is potential on broadcast and cellular systems. With broadcast technologies, due to the absence of a feedback channel it's not possible to guarantee a mistake free reception at the receivers. With cellular technologies, the transmission is predicated on unicast and the identical content is transmitted as several times as the number of people who are watching the identical program in the cell. We propose to mix both technologies and contemplate the concept of repairing a broadcast information flow for dual-mode (cellular and broadcast) smartphones in real time so as to make sure a better quality of service. We tend to propose to use the constrained application protocol (CoAP) and specify a true-time flow repair (RFR) service based mostly on CoAP in the cellular networks. We describe the architecture to supply such a service. We tend to analyze the load generated within the cellular radio access network thanks to the retransmission of the packets lost on the published system and conjointly develop a model for the evaluation of the residual errors within the RFR operations.
