The Application of a New Soft-Switching Configuration

PROJECT TITLE :

A New Soft-Switching Configuration and Its Application

ABSTRACT:

With soft-switching approaches, transformerless grid-connected inverters (TLIs) may dramatically minimise switching losses and smooth the switching process. Using Dr. Deepakraj M. Divan's proposed dc to ac soft switching in TLIs is invalid because of the leakage current problem. This study provides a new soft-switching configuration and a strategy to facilitate the development of soft-switching TLIs in order to construct soft-switching TLIs. After proposing two basic resonance tanks, this paper then applies the provided criteria for full-bridge TLIs to raise four popular full-bridge TLIs. As a result, four new TLIs are available. HERIC, a soft-switching, highly efficient, and reliable inverter concept, is used as a case study in this work to examine its soft-switching operation theory and performance. This means that under both zero-current turn-on and turn-off conditions, all of the active switches of the gained soft-switching HERIC circuit are switched; the reverse recovery problem of freewheeling diodes is alleviated; and, meanwhile, the common mode voltage at the switching frequency scale remains constant. Final data from a 3-kW universal prototype at 50-kHz switching frequency are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of this paper's major findings.
