PROJECT TITLE :
Low-Power Energy Conversion Systems withTwo-Phase PM Machine and a Rectifier withReduced Number of Controlled Switches - 2016
ABSTRACT:
This paper presents 2 power-generation systems with a 2-part permanent-magnet (PM) synchronous machine related to a rectifier with tiny number of controlled switches. The topologies are conceived with the aim of converting wind energy into electrical energy for low-power applications, providing an enormous potential to be utilized in urban areas. They can be employed in applications connected to the grid or within the stand-alone mode or feeding a microgrid. Compared with some 3-phase generation systems with reduced variety of controlled switches, the proposed topologies allow getting sinusoidal controlled machine currents, reducing dc-link voltage and providing dq currents with low harmonic distortion.
