Linear approximated formulation of AC optimal power flow using binary discretisation

PROJECT TITLE :

Linear approximated formulation of AC optimal power flow using binary discretisation

ABSTRACT:

This study presents a novel linear approximated methodology for full alternating current-optimal power flow (AC-OPF). The AC-OPF will offer a lot of precise and real image of full active and reactive power flow modelling, together with the voltage profile of buses compared to the commonly used direct current-optimal power flow. While the AC-OPF may be a non-linear programming problem, this can be remodeled into a mixed-integer linear programming setting by the proposed model while not loss of accuracy. The worldwide optimality of the answer for the approximated model will be guaranteed by existing algorithms and software. The numerical results and simulations that represent the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed model are given and utterly discussed in this study.
