Performance Assessment of Generators Groups When Connected to an Inductive Load

ABSTRACT:

This study evaluated the behavior of 2 varieties of economic engine generators groups of three.5 kVA when submitted to a resistive and inductive load bank. Analyzing the quality parameters from generated power, distortions in the waveform of current and voltage were observed to both generators. All parameters analysed were submitted to Principal Component Analysis (PCA), which showed that total harmonic distortion voltage and reactive power affected negatively the generators operation. Distinctions of 2 teams were additionally observed and a similarity was noted between operation to resistive and inductive masses. Furthermore, the statistical analysis showed similarity in behavior of gasoline and diesel generators when subjected to resistive / inductive hundreds.
