A Wideband Omnidirectional Antenna Array With Low Gain Variation

PROJECT TITLE :

A Wideband Omnidirectional Antenna Array With Low Gain Variation

ABSTRACT:

An omnidirectional antenna array with wide band and low gain variation within the horizontal plane is proposed during this letter. The antenna unit of the array consists of 2 vertically arrayed omnidirectional components and also the associated feeding network. 3-d dipoles with vertical arms and parasitic dipoles are introduced in the antenna unit to considerably enhance the bandwidth and decrease the gain variation. An array with three vertically put in units is fabricated. Each unit is one hundred twenty ° rotated compared to the neighboring one for a lower gain variation. The array exhibits a broad bandwidth of fifty six.4percent (1.54-2.seventy five GHz) for VSWR ≤ one.five, a gain around seven dBi, and a low gain variation around 1.5 dB, that may realize applications in base station for wireless Communication or spectrum monitoring/jamming systems .
