Teaching the Difference Between Stiffness and Damping [Lecture Notes]

ABSTRACT :

A necessary step in the look of an effective management system is to perceive its dynamics. It's not uncommon for a well-trained management engineer to use such an understanding to revamp the system to become easier to control, that needs an excellent deeper understanding of how the elements of a system influence its overall dynamics. During this issue Henry C. Fu and Kam K. Leang discuss the distinction between stiffness and damping when understanding the dynamics of mechanical systems.
