Toward a Wireless Electronic Capsule With Microsensors for Detecting Dysfunction of Human Gastric Motility

PROJECT TITLE :

Toward a Wireless Electronic Capsule With Microsensors for Detecting Dysfunction of Human Gastric Motility

ABSTRACT:

This paper presents a methodology for detecting human gastric-motility dysfunction employing a wireless electronic capsule. The capsule's main parts include an application-specific integrated circuit, 3 sensors (temperature, pH, and pressure), an RF transceiver, and batteries. Additionally, a transportable knowledge recorder was developed to receive and store the information transmitted by the wireless capsule. In explicit, experimental results indicated that the most error and measuring vary of the pressure sensor were zero.15 and ninety-a hundred and twenty kPa, respectively. Using pressure knowledge from the human abdomen, a joint algorithm based mostly on part space reconstruction and independent element analysis was applied within the analysis of gastric motility. Implementation results showed that this joint algorithm could effectively acquire the elements of pressure knowledge for the human abdomen that were caused by breathing, movement, contractions of abdominal muscles, and electrogastrogram. In 24 human experiments, poor gastric motility (useful dyspepsia and delayed gastric emptying) was identified with a recognition rate of nearly 80percent. In particular, interdigestive motor advanced and digestive motor complex connected to human gastric motility were also identified.
