Sensor-Cloud Platform Dynamic Pricing in the Presence of Dumb Nodes

PROJECT TITLE :

Dynamic Pricing for Sensor-Cloud Platform in the Presence of Dumb Nodes

ABSTRACT:

The performance of the system suffers when there are "dumb nodes" present in an environment containing sensor clouds. In this piece, we take into account the existence of dumb nodes in the sensor-cloud platform. Following this, we propose a dynamic pricing scheme that takes into account the presence of such nodes in the networks. The current body of research examines the issue of pricing in sensor clouds under the assumption that the environment is perfect and all sensor nodes are operating normally. The pricing model that has been proposed takes into account the reality that there will be dumb nodes in sensor-cloud platforms. In addition, the behavior of a sensor node that is considered dumb is of a dynamic nature. This is due to the fact that it is contingent on environmental conditions such as the occurrence of heavy rainfall, high temperature, and the presence of fog. On the other hand, when these kinds of unfavorable environmental conditions are removed, the once-dumb nodes revert to their typical behaviors. It is not always possible to solve a problem by eliminating a dumb node from the sensor cloud in a permanent manner. The current pricing scheme in sensor-cloud applies the same fees to dumb nodes that it does to regular nodes. This is the case even when dumb nodes are assigned to virtual sensors. Therefore, in this kind of scenario, a user is responsible for paying the typical cost of a dumb node to the Sensor-Cloud Service Provider (SCSP). As a consequence of this, the owner of a sensor node that is a dumb node makes the same amount of profit as the owner of a normal node. In light of this, we devise a plan for dynamic pricing in sensor-cloud environments where dumb nodes are present ( DISCLOUD ). We propose a scheme that takes into consideration the Quality of Service (QoS) of the sensor cloud because the presence of dumb nodes in the sensor cloud can negatively affect QoS. The plan that has been suggested, known as DISCLOUD, makes it possible for the SCSP to maximize its profits while also taking into account the price that end-users are required to pay based on the quality of service they receive.
