Service Outsourcing with Process Views

ABSTRACT:

Service outsourcing could be a business paradigm in which a corporation features a half of its business method performed by a service supplier. Process views are pivotal to support this method of working. A method read shields secret or irrelevant details from a non-public business process, so allowing a company to reveal only public, relevant components of its personal business method to partner organizations. This paper introduces a specification framework to support service outsourcing using process views. To enable the construction of process views at numerous levels of detail, the framework defines several projection relations between method views and therefore the underlying internal processes. To allow consumers and providers of process views to ascertain an outsourcing relation, the framework defines several matching relations between the respective views that are comprehensive and versatile for service outsourcing. A proof-of-concept prototype tool implements the framework, that is applied in a very case study.
