Simultaneous Interrogation of Multiple Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors Using an Arrayed Waveguide Grating Filter Fabricated in SOI Platform PROJECT TITLE :Simultaneous Interrogation of Multiple Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors Using an Arrayed Waveguide Grating Filter Fabricated in SOI PlatformABSTRACT:A unique fiber Bragg grating (FBG) interrogator is demonstrated primarily based on an optimized arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) filter. The AWG response is optimized to achieve giant crosstalk between the output channels, that permits simultaneous detection of multiple FBG peaks, using centroid Signal Processing techniques, without constraints on the minimum FBG peak spectral width. The measured interrogator resolution is a pair of.5 pm, and the whole measurement vary is 50 nm. The device is fabricated in a silicon-on-insulator platform and includes a footprint of only two.a pair of $times$ one.5 mm. A completely unique approach to reduce the polarization dependence of the device is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Did you like this research project?
