PROJECT TITLE :

The ATSC Link-layer Protocol (ALP): Design and Efficiency Evaluation

ABSTRACT:

During this paper, a completely unique knowledge link layer protocol adopted in the ATSC 3.0 terrestrial broadcast commonplace is described. The data link layer may be a protocol layer between the physical layer and the network layer. The information link layer transports knowledge from the network layer to the physical layer at the sending aspect and transports information from the physical layer to the network layer at the receiving side. The data link layer protocol in ATSC three.zero is named the ATSC link-layer protocol (ALP). The key perform of ALP is to require multiple input formats, not only IP packets but conjointly legacy broadcast formats such as MPEG-two TS packets, and output them during a common format to the physical layer. ALP provides overhead reduction mechanisms to achieve efficient transmission, particularly the compression of IP/UDP packet headers. The protocol and operation of ALP, with potency analysis and analysis of ALP are presented.
