Girls Coming to Tech: Bix reaches out with tales of the history of women and technology

Dr. Amy Sue Bix, associate professor at Iowa State University's (ISU's) History Department, wrote what has been known as "the foremost comprehensive and thorough book on the history of girls coming into technology ever," together with her book Girls Coming to Tech!: A History of American Engineering Education for Girls. Officially a historian, Bix makes a speciality of the history of technology and ladies's history, and this book is at the place where they intersect. It not solely tells women's stories but connects them with social implications that girls have had to endure.
