Microgrids Frequency Control Considerations Within the Framework of the Optimal Generation Scheduling Problem
Microgrids are looked as if it would play an vital role in the longer term of sensible grids. Value reduction and frequency regulation are among the main concerns in this context. This paper aims to review the mutual impacts of these problems and to propose an integrated mathematical framework so as to achieve minimum costs whereas maintaining frequency-regulation needs. Inspired by the operational practices and requisites of the $64000-world microgrid applications, completely different methods of frequency control are reviewed and discussed. This can be followed by developing adequate models for the different sorts of frequency-regulation mechanisms in the framework of the microgrid generation scheduling drawback. The appliance of the proposed methodology to the Bella Coola microgrid in British Columbia, Canada, is explained, and many numerical results are presented and discussed.
