Angular Velocity Sensing Based on Double-Ring Slow-Light Structure

ABSTRACT:

An optical gyroscope comprising a double-ring slow-lightweight structure (DRSLS) coupled by a 3 × three coupler is presented. A technique for improving the sensitivity of the detection of the angular velocity is analyzed very well. The expression for the rotation section distinction of the DRSLS between the counter-propagating waves is derived and mentioned. In our experiment, a Y-waveguide integrated phase modulator is employed as the sunshine beam splitter and combiner. After applying a sq. wave to the modulator, the most effective sensitivity of the system is obtained, and also the complexity of the signal detection is greatly reduced.
