Amplitude and Phase Error Correction Algorithm for $3times 3$ MMI Based Mach–Zehnder Interferometers
Multimode Interference couplers (MMI) will have deviations in their amplitude and part relations with respect to the best case. When using MMIs to construct a Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI), these deviations result in non-ideal MZI behavior. During this paper, we tend to introduce a correction algorithm that's in a position to strongly scale back amplitude and part errors in $3times 3$ MMI primarily based MZIs. Such MZIs are frequently used in phase estimation schemes in wavelength meters. Our technique reduces the maximum phase estimation error to $2^circ$, as measured in fabricated devices. This is 2 to a few times higher than the traditional methodology by Todd et al.
