Widely Tunable Single-Mode Yb-Doped All-Fiber Master Oscillator Power Amplifier


A Yb-doped linearly polarized fiber ring oscillator continuously tunable from a thousand to 109nine nm is built and amplification over the whole range is investigated with emphasis on the short wavelength regime of a thousand-1025 nm. With an all-fiber single-mode polarization-maintaining master oscillator power amplifier, over 10 W output from 10ten to 1090 nm and over 30 W from 1014 to 1080 nm are achieved. At wavelength <;1020 nm, bandpass filters are inserted for suppressing amplified spontaneous emission. The supply can be employed in a variety of applications, together with laser cooling of Yb-doped solids.
