A Flexible and Configurable Architecture for Automatic Control Remote Laboratories


In this paper, we tend to propose a novel approach in hardware and software design design for implementation of remote laboratories for automatic management. In our contribution, we show the solution with flexible connectivity at back-finish, providing options of multipurpose usage with different types of experimental devices, and totally configurable shopper facet application at front-end. The physical setup and communication principles of hardware design are based mostly on two types of devices: the programmable logic controllers and industrial network routers. The user interface of consumer application is meant as a Internet page, powered by optimized JavaScript, using the subtle on-the-fly content generation. To prove the suitability of the design, we compare it with alternative existing approaches of remote laboratory design. We evaluate their advantages and weaknesses, especially in terms of expense, implementation problem, and versatility of usage. During this paper, we have a tendency to additionally show an in depth example of remote laboratory implementation based mostly on new design for thermo-optical educational system and give three other examples of developed remote laboratories. Evaluation of remote laboratory usage and its edges is provided to demonstrate the training value of proposed architecture in education process.
