A Prototype of a Virtual World with Collaborative Games for the Study of the Periodic Table of Elements

ABSTRACT:

Collaborative games are being increasingly utilized in educational platforms in order to market specific learning skills among students through specific ludic experiences. Virtual worlds will conjointly contribute to offer students a distinctive surroundings exploring knowledge domains while interacting with alternative students. This paper describes an innovative virtual world application that comes with collaborative puzzles so as to support learning ideas related to the periodic table of elements within the context of a middle school study program. The paper provides a description of the virtual world and its games, the overall system architecture, the most graphical user interfaces and validation results.
