Joint Virtual MIMO and Data Gathering for Wireless Sensor Networks


Virtual multi-input multi-output (MIMO) or vMIMO is becoming an enticing technology to achieve spatial diversity in wireless networks while not using additional antennas, and to reduce power consumption by cooperation among multiple nodes. As knowledge gathering is one among the foremost necessary operations in several sensor network applications, this paper studies energy-economical data gathering in wireless sensor networks using vMIMO. We outline the joint vMIMO and knowledge gathering (vMDG) problem, which is NP-exhausting. We additionally propose a distributed technique called - as an approximation algorithm. This algorithm first constructs a tree-like topology by taking the distinctive features of vMIMO into consideration.
