Enhancing Weak Signal Transmission Through a Feedforward Network

ABSTRACT:

The power to transmit and amplify weak signals is key to signal processing of artificial devices in engineering. Using a multilayer feedforward network of coupled double-well oscillators and Fitzhugh-Nagumo oscillators, we tend to here investigate the conditions underneath that a weak signal received by the primary layer will be transmitted through the network with or without amplitude attenuation. We have a tendency to find that the coupling strength and therefore the nodes' states of the first layer act as two-state switches, which determine whether or not the transmission is significantly enhanced or exponentially decreased. We have a tendency to hope this finding is helpful for coming up with artificial signal amplifiers.
