Redundancy on Demand—Extending the Coverage Area of Terrestrial Broadcast via Broadband Networks


Nowadays additional and more TV terminal devices for digital terrestrial broadcast also are equipped with broadband network interfaces. In read of this fact, we developed a unique redundancy on demand (RoD) system to enhance the reception of terrestrial broadcast signals with the help of further redundancy knowledge transmitted via broadband networks. RoD does not need any changes of this broadcast network structure and is compatible with standard receivers.
