PROJECT TITLE :
Fast-Decodable MIMO HARQ Systems
ABSTRACT:
This paper presents a comprehensive study on the problem of decoding complexity in an exceedingly Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) system primarily based on Space-Time Block Codes (STBCs). We have a tendency to show that there exist 2 categories of quick-decodable MIMO HARQ systems: freelance and dependent STBC structures. For the freelance class, two types of protocols specifically, mounted and adaptive threshold-based are presented and their effectiveness in each computational complexity reduction and spectral efficiency preservation are mentioned. For the dependent class, a quick Sphere Decoder (SD) algorithm with a coffee computational complexity is proposed for decoding method of HARQ rounds. 2 new ideas are introduced to leverage the quick-decodable notion in MIMO HARQ systems. Simulation results show that the proposed fast-decodable MIMO HARQ protocols in both classes offer a important reduction within the decoding complexity as compared with the original MIMO HARQ methodology.
