PROJECT TITLE :

Fault Current Contribution Analysis of Doubly Fed Induction Generator-Based Wind Turbines

ABSTRACT:

The fault current contribution of the doubly fed induction generator-based mostly wind turbines (DFIG-WTs) is dictated by a combination of things, including the electrical parameters of the machine and therefore the controller configuration of the converters. This paper presents an analytical derivation of short-circuit current quantities considering the controller influences. Mathematical models of the short-circuit current were initial developed based mostly on the closed-loop transfer functions, and approximate expressions for time constants and frequencies were derived. The mathematical models and therefore the expressions for time constants and frequencies were later validated using a manufacturer-primarily based simulation model and a nonlinear optimization for parameter extraction.
