A Virtualization Solution for BYOD With Dynamic Platform Context Switching


This article considers an embedded virtualization platform style for an necessary practical scenario within the business world: Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), that needs isolating the corporate's privileged info access from workers' entertainment environment. For this purpose, the authors propose an alternative architecture style referred to as vNative for complete isolation among different usage eventualities. vNative makes one virtual machine, called the foreground VM (FVM), monopolize all resources at any time to be used; the opposite VMs, referred to as the background VMs (BVMs), are kept reactive with an expeditious context-switching theme between FVM and BVM. vNative is appropriate and reliable for BYOD to freeze alternative unauthentic applications, and it is according to the power consumption and restricted show size of mobile good devices. vNative achieves ninety percent of native performance with 6.5 p.c power overhead, and its VM switching responsiveness is within 376 ms.
