PROJECT TITLE :
Modelling, simulation, and verification for detailed short-circuit analysis of a 1 × 25 kV railway traction system
ABSTRACT:
This study presents a modelling and simulation method for the analysis of short-circuits in one × twenty five kV railway traction systems (RTSs). 1st, the authors developed models of major elements and a full-scale model of a RTS. The component models developed during this study embrace a selected Le Blanc traction transformer and an overhead catenary system. The models are represented using corresponding coupling-free equivalent circuits to facilitate implementation using software packages MATLAB®/Simulink®. The short-circuit fault simulation of a RTS was conducted on a personal computer operating with MS Windows seven®. Field testing information was used to verify the simulation results. The modelling and simulation technology developed during this study provide a valuable reference for power engineers involved in the look, style, and operation of a railway traction network.
