Piezoelectrets with well-defined cavities produced from 3D-printed acrylonitrile butadiene styrene structures


A completely unique piezoelectret with well-defined cavities created by 3-dimensional printing technology is reported. This prototyping tool permits several samples to be prepared in a very single printing step and provides the chance to style voided structures with management of the cavity geometric parameters like height, diameter and form. Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene piezoelectrets were fabricated by this methodology and measurements regarding their electrical response against time, temperature and pressure are presented. The samples show a median piezoelectric coefficient d33 of around a hundred pC/N and seventypercent of this piezoelectricity remains once they were exposed to temperatures up to 85°C.
