Directional dual-band slotted semi-circular inverted-F antenna for WLAN applications

ABSTRACT:

A simple and compact directional dual-band semi-circular inverted-F antenna for wireless native area network applications is reported. Two pairs of semi-circular slots also a pair of arms are utilized to come up with the twin resonances in the two.four–two.48 and five.two–5.8 GHz bands. The measured results show that the proposed antenna will offer two ten dB impedance bandwidths of 160 MHz (2.forty–a pair of.56 GHz) and 90zero MHz (4.95–five.eighty five GHz). Nearly constant directivities (concerning four.seven dBi) are observed in the lower band, while directivities in the upper band vary between vi.3 and 8.six dBi.
