Iterative detection supported by extrinsic information for holographic data storage systems


A new model in which an iterative detection is supported by extrinsic info from equalisers is proposed. Furthermore, the system performance involving extrinsic info from an wrong way one-dimensional soft output Viterbi algorithm is examined. The work is applied to holographic information storage (HDS) systems. The HDS systems are well known as a future storage system as a result of of their extremely giant storage capacity and high information transfer rates. But, the system faces two-dimensional interference challenges. The results show that the proposed model vastly improves the performance of the HDS system beneath severe interference.
