A Novel Hollow Active Auxiliary Electrode Applied for the Vertical Calculable Cross Capacitor at NIM


To compensate the tip result error in a very vertical calculable cross capacitor with a mounted and a movable guard electrode, two totally different methods, a nosepiece and a modified active auxiliary electrode, are typically adopted at National Measurement Institutes across the globe. However, the latter electrical approach can be additional tough when assembling the mirrors within the resonant cavity of the Fabry–Perot laser interferometer. This paper describes a novel hollow active auxiliary electrode that may satisfy the optical needs. The model test experimental results show that it has the same or higher compensation effectiveness for the end impact error as compared with the changed active auxiliary electrode.
