Slot-coupled broadband patch antenna

ABSTRACT:

A wideband aperture-coupled patch antenna is presented. The proposed antenna consists of patches in numerous sizes and a ground plane, which is fed by a microstrip line through a slot cut on the plane ground. Owing to the patches of various size and the slot on the bottom, three resonance modes are excited simultaneously for the radiation at the boresight. The proposed antenna yields a good bandwidth of concerning thirty one% with a low profile of 0.07λ0 (λ0 is the free house wavelength at the centre operating frequency). The results are validated by each numerical simulation and experimental measurements.
