Horizontal plane detection from 3D point clouds of buildings


The detection of the horizontal plane or its traditional direction is vital in the processing of 3D point clouds of buildings. Usually, the horizontal plane is detected from clues of vanishing points of visual pictures or from the border detection of 3D purpose data. However, these ways aren't fit for most building structures of numerous sorts. Presented could be a novel detection technique to extract directly the horizontal plane from 3D point clouds of buildings. Experimental results demonstrate that the tactic is easy and strong.
