Statistical model of signal strength imbalance between RF channels in DTT network


Proposed may be a model for the received signal strength imbalance between radio frequency (RF) channels within the UHF band. The model is fitted to field measurements applied within the business DVB-T (digital terrestrial broadcasting) network of Sweden. Analysis of the measurement knowledge reveals large differences within the received signal strength between channels consistent with the reception state of affairs and also the frequency spacing. The model presented may be a valuable tool to analyze the potential network coming up with gains of time-frequency slicing, a technique that was described within the DVB-T2 normal which can be included in the long run DVB-NGH (next generation handheld) normal for improved frequency diversity.
