Design of trapezoid monopole antenna with band-notched performance for UWB


A trapezoid monopole antenna with a band-notched performance for UWB is presented. The proposed antenna is fabricated on a 1.six mmthick FR-four substrate with a relative permittivity of four.2 and a loss tangent of zero.02. The VSWR of the proposed antenna is measured and then compared with simulated results. The measured parameters are in agreement with the simulation results, and the antenna offers an wonderful performance for UWB systems ranging from to GHz. The inverted-U formed slot rejects the frequency band of WLAN (5.15-5.825 GHz). The proposed antenna creates a monopole- like pattern in the E-plane and an omnidirectional radiation pattern within the H-plane.
