Simulation on the microvaristor chain formation in liquid epoxy under electric field

ABSTRACT:

The composite varistor of epoxy resin and microvaristor has the nonlinear voltage-current characteristics as a result of the microvaristor chains that work as current methods. These chains are fashioned by applying an electric field during curing process, and it's important to make the chains homogeneously thus as to obtain the stable quality. Forming the chains is stricken by numerous factors like length between electrodes, size of microvaristors, applied electric field and gravity. So, the authors established a simulation methodology of the microvaristor movement in an exceedingly liquid below AC electrical field. The simulation results on the chain formation agreed well with the experimental results.
